Will Massachusetts Remove Limits On Liquor Licenses?


New legislation introduced in by Governor Deval Patrick would create more liquor licenses in Massachusetts. The current system for awarding liquor licenses is based on population for most communities. 

The legislation, introduced on July 1st, would remove limits on the number of liquor licenses a community could award, though individual retailers could hold no more than five licenses statewide or two in a community.
